First Look At ‘Krypton’s’ Doomsday Revealed

Syfy’s Superman spin-off TV series Krypton reveals its own very comic-accurate version of villain Doomsday

While 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice brought together DC’s Trinity, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, on  the big screen for the first time, it also introduced the Kryptonian villain Doomsday whom Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor unleashed on Metropolis as a last resort to kill Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel. It’s safe to say that not everyone was thrilled about Doomsday’s depiction in the Zack Snyder directed film, but it now looks as though we will be getting the opportunity to see another version of the character on the new Syfy superman spin-off series Krypton.

Having just debuted last month, Krypton has been able to lock down an audience for itself relatively quickly and not just by virtue of its connections to the Superman mythos. The show has established its own Kryptonian world with interesting characters, that predate the likes of Superman’s father Jor-El, and provides an insight into the advanced civilisation’s history.

Having said that, the showrunners have not been afraid to utilise some well known villains, with Brainiac having been teased throughout the series thus far, but it now looks as though DC fans can expect to see yet another of the Man of Steel’s biggest foes appearance.

One the latest episode of Krypton, the monstrous Doomsday was teased in a short reveal, shown in the gif below from the show’s Twitter account, and many will be pleased to see a more comic-accurate version of the character being used:

Exactly how Doomsday will play into Krypton’s ongoing story is yet to be seen, but going by the effort that’s been made just in the character’s appearance it seems like the showrunners have big plans for the Kryptonian creature, teasing him even further with the caption “This is what nightmares are made of”.
