Disney/Pixar releases a revealing new TV Spot for the highly anticipated follow-up to 2004’s The Incredibles

The Incredible (Parr) family’s long-awaited return to the big screen is now only a mere three months away and Disney/Pixar has begun ramping up the film’s marketing with a steady stream of Spots and Sneak Peeks. Incredibles 2 resumes the superhero story right from where the first film left off with the rising (literally) threat of the Underminer (John Ratzenberger), which will presumably see the heroes engage the antagonist early on. From then on, the movie will shift to shine the spotlight on Elastigirl’s (Holly Hunter) hero work while Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) stays home to look after the kids – reversing the pairs’ roles from The Incredibles.

Disney’s marketing campaign for Incredibles 2 has been highly successful thus far, with the film’s teaser trailer having become the most viewed animated movie trailer of all time showing that the public is onboard for the follow-up even after the 14-year wait. It’s more than likely we’ll be seeing a new trailer released within the next six weeks, given that the film is set for release in mid-July.

Until then, the studio continues to tease Incredibles 2 with TV Spots and the latest of which has arrived via the studio’s Twitter showing some new unseen shots from the movie:

Perhaps the biggest takeaway here is Jack-Jack’s antics which will no doubt play an important part in the film both comedically, and also thematically – Elastigirl will be used to bring superheroes back into the public eye and Jack-Jack represents both the positive and negative sides of future supers given his extreme powers. Whether or not Incredibles 2 will delve further into Jack-Jack’s abilities from a more slightly more serious perspective is unknown but it certainly presents an interesting plot point to use in future. For now, though, it’s quite amusing to see the domestic chaos left in his wake.

Incredibles 2 just seems to look better and better with every new piece of promotional material cementing it as the most-anticipated animated title of the year.
