Here’s How ‘Infinity War’ Will Balance All Of Its Heroes

The new Avengers: Infinity War trailer provides some indication as to how The Russo’s will handle the movie’s many characters.

(Potential Spoilers Ahead)

Marvel treated its fans to a teaser trailer for Avengers: Infinity War earlier this week, and as expected it has generated a lot of noise online. Overall, the response to the footage has been largely positive with only a few criticising what they saw, and what it indicates will take place in the movie. The trailer has already broken records for the most views in a single day, wracking up 230 million in just 24 hours, and no doubt much of it due to its repeat value with there being so much material to take in. While the promo does keep certain things close to Marvel’s chest, which is understandable, it does shed some light on a few of the movie’s details. Namely, how the Russo brothers will balance all of its main characters.

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes won’t be avenging together in Infinity War, at least not for all of it anyway, rather the trailer shows that the group will be split into smaller teams that will likely be tasked with protecting their own Infinity Stone from Thanos. One of these break-off teams looks as though it consists of Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Wong, Banner (unhulkified), with Spider-Man joining them in that shiny new suit later on, while another of the squads brings Captain America together with Black Panther, Okoye, Winter Soldier, Black Widow, War Machine and Falcon who lead the Wakandan army in the big battle sequence teased in the trailer.

Of course, a Hulked-out Banner is now with the latter team at this point which makes sense given the incredibly big green hero’s strength and fighting ability. A third unit, or as far as we can tell, is the space fairing team of the Guardians of the Galaxy who are joined by Thor, following the events of Ragnarok. As to who Scarlett Witch and Vision will end up fighting with is unknown at the moment.

Avengers: Infinity War flies into cinemas April 17th, 2018.
