Star Wars Battlefront returned to our TV screens in 2015, following a nine year absence, giving PS4, XBox One and PC owners the chance to play as their favourite characters from the Galaxy Far Away in unprecedented detail on an impressive scale. Pre-order sales rocketed up and up, but when release day arrived buyers were a little underwhelmed at how much content their money had purchased. While Battlefront had the incredible online experience to play through there was not much else on offer; no campaign and lack of offline content, and no space battles either (they’re the best bit!) Needless to say, with EA and Dice bringing Star Wars Battlefront 2 to this year’s E3 conference the game makers needed to show that there will be a wealth of things to do upon release this time around.

Battlefront 2 brags a huge roster of playable characters, including Darth Maul, Kylo Ren and Rey, spanning across all three eras in Star Wars canon; the prequels, the original trilogy and the current period (beginning with The Force Awakens). EA confirms that there will be no season pass for the game, making a wide variety of content freely available to players of Battlefront 2 (most likely as a consolation for the first game)
Fans will be excited to hear that a campaign mode will be on offer which brings a new character Iden Versio (voiced by Janina Gavankar who presented the game at E3) into Star Wars canon, and provides the game developers the ability to tell a new story that players will not have encountered before.
Live the untold Star Wars story of Iden, an elite Stormtrooper, in an original single-player story. Battle on land and in space in an expanded multiplayer experience with iconic heroes and villains, thrilling space battles, and a deep progression and customization system.
Clones, battle droids, Jedi, Sith the list of iconic playable figures goes on and on, the map locations are vivid and detailed, and gameplay seems balanced and polished. Oh, and of course space battles are indeed a big part of Battlefront 2, something that long-time players particularly will love.
