20th Century Fox releases a short prologue tease for Ridley Scott’s Alien: covenant – showing James Franco, Danny McBride, Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup and others toasting before the mission.
The marketing for Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant is officially underway, with the film receiving its first promotional video in the form of a 5-minute prologue, titled “The Last Supper”, giving fans some insight into its look and feel. As the follow up to Scott’s somewhat divisive 2012 Alien prequel Prometheus, Alien: Covenant is set to continue the forward in the timeline leading up to (supposedly) the original 1979 Alien, and the events thereafter.
From what we’ve heard about Covenant in the last couple of months, Scott is aiming to steer the franchise back to its roots in terms of style and tone, and away from the slightly more slick, glossy sci-fi look he had going with Prometheus. This was only strengthened by reports that surfaced after a sneak peek at the movie was shown to the press during the Fox Film Showcase in late 2016, with word that the footage displayed a tonal shift back to the dark and dingy horror feel of the original films.
The upcoming title will feature a brand new cast, with some exceptions – including Michael Fassbender, that sees the funny-men duo of Danny McBride and James Franco, alongside Katherine Waterston and Billy Crudup who are all heavily featured in the newly released prologue shown below.
Official Description and Prologue:
