The latest TV Spot for Doctor Strange brings the master of the mystic arts closer to the rest of the MCU.

Marvel has continued to ensure that Doctor Strange‘s ties to the Avengers are clear in its marketing for the upcoming movie. As the studio delves deeper into the Marvel Comics mythology, more and more characters are receiving their own films, but fewer and fewer are figures well known by the public.

This is true of the story of Stephen Strange, and thus teasing the future involvement of the magician with the rest of the MCU is important in building excitement among those who are not as aware of the character.

In previous trailers and clips, Tilda Swinton’s The Great One has mentioned Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, but the latest TV Spot emphasises Strange’s connection to the Avengers even more so:

Dramatic shots of the team’s famous weapons and armour are displayed in between the splintering of the phrase, “Our heroes are getting strange”, which definitely hits the point home that yes this is a Marvel movie, and yes Strange will be seen alongside these characters in the near future.

Of course, it’s important for the film’s promotional content to also highlight the mystical powers dealt with in the movie. Doctor Strange stories involve time travel and other dimensions, so there’s no doubt that Marvel is keen to carry on expanding its already sizeable cinematic world, thanks to the success of projects such as Guardians of the Galaxy.
