‘Deepwater Horizon’ ‘Courage’ Trailer

@Lionsgate

Lionsgate has released a new trailer for its biographical thriller Deepwater Horizon starring Mark Wahlberg.

On the 20th of April, 2010, one of the largest man-made disasters on record took place on the Deepwater Horizon offshore drilling rig, when an explosion occurred and created the largest oil spill in U.S. history. Mark Wahlberg stars in Lionsgate’s Peter Berg-directed biographical disaster thriller, simply titled Deepwater Horizon, a film based on the events that unfolded that day.

Wahlberg and Berg’s last collaboration, Lone Survivor (2014), went down very well with audiences and critics alike, and there’s no question that the film demonstrates the directors ability to strike a balance between accurately recounting an event whilst also providing a visual thrill ride for the audience. It seems this will be the case once again with Deepwater Horizon.

45-year-old Wahlberg plays real-life crew member Mike Williams alongside an array of talented perfromers including Kurt Russell, Douglas Griffin, Kate Hudson and John Malkovich.

Official Description and Trailer:

On April 20th, 2010, one of the world’s largest man-made disasters occurred on the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico. Directed by Peter Berg (Lone Survivor), this story honours the brave men and women whose heroism would save many on board, and change everyone’s lives forever.
