When the second full length trailer for Captain America: Civil War dropped back in March, the internet became abuzz with talk of the newly rebooted Spider-Man. It was the tangible sign that the deal struck in 2015 between Sony and Marvel, which allows the character to be used in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was really happening, and Spidey would be seen alongside fellow Marvel Comics heroes such as Iron Man and Captain America. With a successful introduction in Civil War, this iteration of the world-famous wall-crawler has been doing his thing for a little while, but it’s safe to say that with Peter Parker now under the mentorship of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) his activities in crime fighting are about to step up a notch.
Young British actor Tom Holland was able to win audiences over with his portrayal of the character, which marks Sony’s third attempt to build a fully fleshed out Spider-Man world, and fans seemed to like both his performances; as the 16-year-old Peter Parker and when donning the red and blue suit too. Of course, with the web-slingers inclusion in the MCU it certainly looks promising for their to be a plethora of characters and stories for him to engage with, something to be excited about indeed.
20-year-old Holland recently took to Instagram to share an image of himself on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming all suited up, giving his followers a look at the costume without CGI:
With “1 year” to go, Homecoming is still a bit of a way off but we’re sure that a steady stream of news and set pictures will continue to pour out online.
