Emma Roberts has come a long way since Unfabulous (2004), with the 25-year-old actress now appearing in feature-length films such as We’re The Millers and Empire State alongside the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Although her films are not consistently successful commercially, Roberts clearly shows tenacity in her pursuit to become an A-list talent, and is certainly not afraid to take risks in order to do so. Starring in new thriller Nerve, opposite the youngest Franco brother Dave, is a testament to that.
Having accrued a variety of credits in movies ranging from 21 Jump Street to The Lego Movie, Dave Franco has put himself in a favourable position in Hollywood. Aged 31, Franco looks to place himself as a franchise lead, taking a few more risks with Nerve which looks like a make, or break, kind of film.
The new thriller certainly presents an intriguing story, with the film revolving around a mobile ‘game’ where the user becomes like a contestant in an online youth game show, taking on a series of “daring” tasks that take place in the real World.
