A new featurette for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse highlights the film’s story and explores ‘The largest X-Men film ever made’.

The recently released 20th Century Fox comic book movie X-Men: Apocalypse certainly has a lot to live up to given the overall success, and scale, of films of the genre in 2016 thus far. Apocalypse will mark Fox‘s ninth outing in their current X-Men universe run, a very fruitful endeavour indeed, that began back in 2000 with the release of X-Men, a film which really set the scene for years of groundbreaking work in the genre, including some of its own sequels and spin-offs, but also helping influence many studios and filmmakers to produce high quality works, such as Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

With the buzz coming off of the previous 2014 film X-Men: Days of Future Past, which saw original series director Bryan Singer’s triumphant return to the franchise, fans the World over are keen to see where the overarching story will take us next, particularly with where the characters will end up by the end of the movie. We know the main events of the picture will be focused on God-like mutant villain Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), but it’s finding out where Professor X‘s (James McAvoy) team will stand going forward that interests us most, having heard all sorts of confusing rumours surrounding the direction of the property.

For the time being though, let’s remember that this year’s film is the biggest of the series to date, boasting the most characters, the most action and one of the deadliest villains in X-Men lore.

Singer and Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender (Magneto) seem excited about the movie, which is very encouraging see. If a film is being made with care and dedication it usually creates a good atmosphere on set, which in turn will encourage your cast to give their best performances. We hope that’s the case here anyway.
