20th Century Fox has unveiled the final trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse ahead of the film’s May release.

The fourth of this year’s biggest comic book movies X-Men: Apocalypse is on its way, and 20th Century Fox is leading off the film’s final phase of marketing with a third, and final, full-length trailer.

The film’s marketing department have done well to tease us thus far, with previous trailers having slowly revealed more about the plot and events within the movie, but not showing us every single piece of action in two and a half minutes. Now, with the unveiling of the final trailer, we are shown a few more sequences and surprises to get us excited, but perhaps the best and biggest of those surprises is saved for last.

Take a look:

So, it seems, if it was ever in doubt, Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine will make an appearance. While it’s not necessarily a big surprise, fans will be pleased to see the tentpole character lend a helping hand to the team as they take on their most powerful foe yet: Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac).

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
