‘Ice Age: Collision Course’ Trailer 2

Manny, Diego, Sid and the gang return in the new trailer for the fifth installment of the beloved Ice Age series.

It’s been almost fourteen years since the original Ice Age (2002) hit screens around the World, and the popularity of it’s central characters Manny the mammoth, Diego the sabretooth and Sid the sloth, does not seem to have faded, with the previous four films in the franchise bringing in over $2.8 billion worldwide. So, with movie franchises continuing to build momentum, audiences are about to get even more of the prehistoric pack, as 20th Century Fox‘s own sub-freezing, or ‘Frozen‘, family-friendly adventure series receives another outing in Ice Age: Collision Course.

Official Synopsis and Trailer:

Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn catapults him into the universe where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the Ice Age World. To save themselves, Sid, Manny, Diego, and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest full of comedy and adventure, travelling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colourful new characters.

Directed by Mike Thurmeier and Galen Chu,
Starring Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Simon Pegg, Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes with Jennifer Lopez and Queen Latifah.

Joining the herd are Stephanie Beatriz, Adam DeVine, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Max Greenfield, Jessie J, Nick Offerman, Melissa Rauch, Michael Strahan and Neil deGrasse Tyson

Fox will be hoping that Collision Course can set Ice Age back on course, after a slight dip in both quality and reception in creator Blue Sky Studios‘ most recent offering Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012). However, boasting a stellar voice cast the next outing has mountains of potential, introducing interesting new characters and places, but also retaining that same warm comical characteristic that fans of this series love.
