‘The Angry Birds Movie’ International Trailer

Watch the new trailer for The Angry Birds Movie, featuring an all-star voice cast including Kate McKinnon, Peter Dinklage, Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad and others.

When the Angry Birds game hit the Apple App Store in 2009, creators Rovio Entertainment saw their efforts pay off in an unimaginably huge way. The highly addictive computer game was downloaded over 12 million times in its first year, and has gone on to become a mobile game essential, receiving countless sequels, spin-offs, TV shows and merchandising.

With Hollywood now churning out numerous sequels and reboots, and simply pandering to popular culture in general, it was only a matter of time before the Angriest Birds around got a movie deal, and Sony Pictures looks to have taken advantage of that global demand, as we long to see more and more of these fuming feathery cannonballs. We were surprised how much we enjoyed the new trailer, it’s by no means up to Deadpool standards, but there’s clearly a number of ways a filmmaker could have handled a property such as this, and so, it’s good to see real consideration of the World, the characters and the quips.

Official Trailer and Synopsis:

In the 3D animated comedy, The Angry Birds Movie, we’ll finally find out why the birds are so angry.

The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We’re the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.

The Angry Birds voice cast also includes Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, Bill Hader and Peter Dinklage… Not bad eh.
