‘The Man Who Knew Infinity’ Trailer

Dev Patel and Jeremy Irons star in The Man Who Knew Infinity, a film based on the Robert Kanigel book of the same name, and the real-life mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.

The Man Who Knew Infinity sees Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire, Chappie) take on the role of Srinivasa Ramanujan, a 20th Century pioneer in mathematical theories who came to England from India during World War I, after earning admittance to Cambridge University. Under the guidance of Professor G.H. Hardy (Jeremy Irons), Ramanujan was able to display his talents to senior mathematicians, although his presence was not welcomed by all.

The new heartfelt trailer really captures the struggles and challenges Ramanujan had to face, while also doing a great job of showcasing the performances of both Patel and Irons:

The biopic also stars Stephen Fry (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies), Toby Jones (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Jeremy Northam (The Invasion) and Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), a stellar cast for a stellar story, this is definitely one for the watchlist!

  1. Great review thank you. For me the film was a “a tale of two cultures that collide in the hallowed halls of Cambridge in the early 1900s” and a celebration of an hitherto unknown Olympian of knowledge. Hope you drop in for a read of my take.
