‘The Secret Life Of Pets’ Trailer 2

The second full-length trailer for animated family comedy The Secret Life of Pets has been released online.

After finding success with animated feature films such as Despicable Me (2010), Illumination Entertainment continues to provide a steady stream of high quality, family friendly flicks, that at times may even give reigning 3D computer-animation champions Pixar a run for their money. The first Despicable me, featuring the World’s new favourite fictional characters Minions, was made for around $69 million, but by the end of its cinematic run had managed to pull an incredible $543 million Worldwide (approximately), signalling to distributor Universal Pictures that the people wanted more. In fact audiences were so minion-mad that the second installment, Despicable Me 2, grossed near $1 billion, and so it was only fitting that Universal would want to further their collaboration with Illumination.

Fast forward to 2016 and the collaborators revealed their latest creation: The Secret Life of Pets.

Official description and trailer:

For their fifth fully-animated feature-film collaboration, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures present The Secret Life of Pets, a comedy about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day.

Comedy superstars Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart make their animated feature-film debuts in The Secret Life of Pets, which co-stars Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Jenny Slate, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress and Albert Brooks. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy produce the film directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2), co-directed by Yarrow Cheney and written by Brian Lynch and Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio.

The trailer certainly delivers the laughs and gives us a good overall sense of the story, which although nothing new, provides a great central framework for the comedic situations that ensue. The inclusion of funny men Louis C.K. and Kevin Hart, who’s rabbit character looks to be hilarious, gives us confidence in the film’s ability to hit the mark.

The Secret Life of Pets hits UK cinemas June 24th.
