Hugh Jackman Has Full Script For ‘Wolverine 3’

Hugh Jackman has revealed that he’s received the script for the next solo Wolverine movie, which will mark his final time portraying the character.

When Aussie superstar Hugh (huge) Jackman (jacked man) was cast as Marvel Comics‘ adamantium laced-berserker Wolverine back in 1999, comic fans the world over were not too pleased to say the least. Many were skeptical over his ability to portray the animalistic mutant, and particularly picked upon his height, Jackman standing at 6’3 inches tall, a giant compared to the 5’7 inch wolverine from the comics. However, fast forward 20 years and you really could not imagine anyone else playing that character, the minute you think of Wolverine you think Hugh Jackman, as if one was the alter-ego of the other. It is therefore sad to say that very soon we will see the two part ways, but not before one final installment .

In recent talks with Collider, the 47 year-old confirmed that he has received a script and is already well into the tenacious physical preparations he continues to make each and every time he returns to the role:

“We have a script. A full script. To tell you, two days ago I got that the full finished—well, it’s not finished, but we’re getting super close—as you can see by the rate of my facial hair. That might give you a good clue that perhaps… yeah, it’s sooner rather than later.”

Jackman has never been hesitant to show his passion for the character and it shines through in every performance, from the first X-Men (2000) right the way through til the most recent Days of Future Past (2014), even in disappointments such as X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), the Australian actor consistently hits the mark, and has arguably been the face of the franchise since its inception:

“I don’t have a firm date yet. My thing and I’ve told you and I’ve told everyone, it’s my last one, for me I want it to be perfect, so the moment I know it’s perfect, bang, we’ll go.”

Wolverine 3 is slated for a March 2nd, 2017 release date.
