Devin Faraci over at Birth. Death. Movies has stated that from a “good source” he has learned Darth Vader will appear in the first Star Wars Anthology film Star Wars: Rogue One.
Rogue One, first announced at Star Wars Celebration, will be a heist film that follows a team of rebels as they attempt to steal the plans for the Death Star, set just before the events of Episode IV – A New Hope. It’s likely that if Vader was to show up it would probably be for a brief moment, perhaps as a hologram appearing before the film’s primary antagonist (as Palpatine does to him). Vader may be the elusive figure pulling the strings in this movie, which we feel would be a good way to use the character. James Earl Jones has voiced the Sith Lord again recently for Star Wars Rebels so it doesn’t seem as though Lucasfilm would have a problem getting him back for a few scenes of dialogue.
Star Wars: Rogue One will be directed by Gareth Edwards and star Felicity Jones, and is scheduled for wide release on December 16th, 2016
“Glad to be back!”
