New Promo Art For ‘Captain America: Civil War’

Captain America: Civil War, often referred to as Avengers 2.5, will hit the big screen early next year with the “The Man out of Time” set to battle it out with Iron Man following a dispute after World Governments decide to pass a Superhero Regulation Act of some kind.

Supposed new promo art has been leaked this week by non other than El Mayimbe, well known for his scoops, the first of which features the two heroes going head to head in their new outfits:

Many fans have pointed to the Bleeding Edge Armour as the main inspiration behind the new suit, or Mark 46, which begs the question: is this Marvel‘s way of telling us we are going to see a Super Powerful version of the character in Civil War? In the comics the suit uses enhanced nano-tech to give Stark the ability to mentally control the technology inside of him to manifest Armours and other devices at his will. He also gains intelligence and processing skills at a superhuman level and has a “man-made star” energy source in the chest piece powering the suit. Essentially he becomes Super-Iron Man!

For Disney to tap into this has definitely become more probable after the events of Age of Ultron, with all the advanced technology involved in creating Ultron and The Vision. Tony Stark is hardly the kind of guy to fall behind in technological advancements and so drawing from source material like the BEA wouldn’t be too unexpected.

Most importantly though, what do you think of the new armour?

Captain America: Civil War is scheduled for release on May 6th, 2016
