Momoa Shows Enthusiasm for Aquaman Role

In recent talks with The Daily Beast, former Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa showed his enthusiasm toward his role as Aquaman in the upcoming DC/Warner Bros. film Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. The 35 year-old was confirmed to play character back in October last year and since then, as with many of the casting choices, there have been a range of views, both supportive and critical, about what he can bring to the table and the kind of Aquaman we will see. For now the intimidating 6ft’4 Hawaiin native seems happy with the direction the studio is taking with the character saying, “I’m someone who gets to represent all the islanders, not some blond-haired superhero. It’s cool that there’s a brown-skinned superhero.”

Aquaman in the past has been seen as the orange and green, blonde haired punch line of DC comics. In his latest New-52 incarnation however, the character has been re-worked and re-imagined, leading him to now be viewed as a strong force to be reckoned with among the Justice League members. This is recognised by many fans of the comics, particularly by those who have played the Injustice: Gods Among Us video-game. The guy is king of the whole frickin  ocean after all and that is pretty Badass.

Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release on the 25th March 2016.
